In late
1998, singer/songwriter Robert Oakes formed the folk-rock/world-fusion
band Seedensoul, an eclectic group that drew inspiration from a wide
array of cultural sources. The band – which also featured Jason
Loughlin, David Hunscher, Jonathan Ward and Michael Robbins –
finished its self-titled debut album in May, 1999 and played a series
of gigs in the NYC-area, where audiences began to take notice of their
artful, passionate music and exciting live performances. Not long after
the completion of the record, however, members of the group decided
to pursue other interests, and by fall of that year, Seedensoul had
disbanded.
In early 2010, Oakes worked with Mastering Engineer Garrett Haines of
Treelady Studio,
Turtle Creek, PA on a remaster of the 1999 release, which is now available
online.
